INFORMATION
I Got A Woman, one of Elvis’s favorite songs, which he practically would not stop including in his live shows until the end of his career. Composed by the great Ray Charles and taken to the top of the Rythm and Blues charts in early 1955, Elvis performed his particular version in those first recording sessions for his new company held in Nashville. Take eight was chosen as the master but failed to enter the charts. I Got A Woman also appeared in March 1956 as part of the Elvis Presley LP and EP.
Its B-side, I’m Counting On You, also saw the light of day for the first time on Elvis’s first full-length album. The master, taken from take number seventeen, failed to enter the charts.
Its author, Don Robertson, contributed up to fourteen titles to Elvis Presley’s discography, among which are songs such as There’s always Me, No More, Anything That’s Part Of You, Love Tonight, What Now, What Next, Where To or I Really Don’t Want To Know.
