“ADONIS SUITE”. THE WORLD OF JUMPSUITS

Description of the suit: It is a white jumpsuit, with a matching gold-lined cape.
It has five gold square eyelets on each side of the chest opening.

The suit had 26 different models or patterns that resembled a kind of plant or branch and were distributed on the sides of the pants, the sleeves, the chest, the back and the neck. The models, or patterns, were made of round gold metal studs. The lining of the pant leg openings is the same gold fabric as the inside of the cape, with the same studs and pattern as the rest of the suit.
Belt: Gold Attendance Belt.
Elvis debuted in this suit during the first Madison Square Garden concert on June 9, 1972 and used it throughout the year. A belt may have been made for the suit, but Elvis did not wear it. He used the “Gold Attendace Belt”.
Actor Kurt Russell wore the original costume that belonged to Elvis in the 1979 film “Elvis.” Director John Carpenter and Kurt Russell visited Graceland during preparations for the film’s shoot, so Kurt could get a real look at how it was Elvis’s life and he knew his home, although Kurt had already met Elvis, as a child, in the movie “It Happened At The World’s Fair”, where he made his acting debut, kicking Elvis in the shin, with only 12 years old.
Vernon told Kurt to try on one of Elvis’s jumpsuits. Kurt did so. So, with Vernon’s approval, they decided to take it with them for Kurt to use in the movie. You can see it in the following video:
Shortly after, in June of that year, Vernon died, but the suit was never returned. It was later auctioned.
It is now on display at the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando, Florida.
