IF YOU TALK IN YOUR SLEEP
A funky song in the vein of “If You Don’t Come Back“, but with very suggestive lyrics. It’s a song about adultery.
Recorded in December 1973 and released as a single, the song peaked at number 17 and would have gone higher if RCA hadn’t released the reverse, “Help Me” (what an odd combination: a song about adultery and a plea to God).

I wish they would have taken the best 24 songs from the ’73 Stax and Palm Springs sessions and they would have put them on 2 LPs.
One could still have been called “Raised On Rock,” with “Promised Land,” “If You Talk In Your Sleep,” “I’ve Got A Thing About You, Baby,” “If You Don’t Come Back,” ” Talk About The Good Times“, “Just A Little Bit” and “Find Out What’s Happening” and it would have been a true Rock/Funk album.

The second album could have compiled the heavy country ballads “My Boy“, “Lovin’ Arms“, “Help Me“, “Honky Tonk Angel“, etc. and have been called “Elvis Country, Vol.2“.
