ELVIS HISTORY / ELVIS ARTICLES
The recording set of “Love Me Tender” in 1956, was the place where Elvis and then celebrity writer Nick Adams met and joined their paths.

Apparently, when Elvis came to Hollywood, he sought out Nick Adams because Elvis was a huge fan of James Dean (he had memorized Dean’s lines in Rebel Without a Cause, and knew that Nick had been Jimmy’s closest friend).
The two became so close that Adams stayed with Elvis for over a week at his home at 1034 Audubon Drive, with Elvis and his parents, before Elvis’ Homecoming Concert in Tupelo, Mississippi, in September 1956.
Both became inseparable. The friendship between Elvis and Nick Adams became very strong.
The two hit it off quickly and grew to become celebrities together. Nick already had very famous friends besides James Dean, like Natalie Wood or Dennis Hopper, throughout his acting career. And he always helped Elvis in Hollywood.

Elvis kindly invited Nick to his home and introduced him to his family and all his Memphis friends.
On one occasion Elvis was talking to Nick as they were driving down Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, CA. They were going to meet Natalie Wood. As you know Elvis was a deeply believing person.

And Elvis said to Nick:
“I sincerely believed that one day a miracle would happen, and sure enough, it did happen because God saw fit to allow it to happen. And don’t think I’m not grateful. God answered my prayer so fast that I still don’t know where it all started… What if other people, when something good happens in life and makes them happy, or if something is given to them, if they would just stop and think and thank him God for that, then they would have more good luck and more blessings. That is my honest and sincere way of thinking. And if tomorrow, all my success came to an end, I would never stop thanking him. And I would go on for the rest of my life telling people what a wonderful blessing he once gave me. This is my way of thinking and the words come straight from my heart”
Elvis Presley.
Está declaración de espiritualidad de Elvis la recoge Nick Adams en su libro: “The Rebel & The King”.
