Information
A true classic of Rhythm And Blues music for the A side of this single; What’d I Say, composed and made successful by Ray Charles in 1959 and which Elvis would record to be included in the Viva Las Vegas soundtrack. The master was taken from take number four. On Billboard magazine’s Hot 100 it reached number twenty-one. The musical number of this theme included in the film is one of the highlights of the film. Elvis would make sweeping versions during his stay at the Las Vegas International in August 1969.
His B-side, Viva Las Vegas, gave the film its title, reaching number 29 on the US charts. In the UK it reached number 17. Take number seven served to make the master.

During those recording sessions held in Hollywood in the summer of 1963, Elvis had the participation of a series of unusual musicians such as Billy Strange, Alton Hendrickson and Glen Campbell on guitars, Ray Siegel on bass, Frank Carlson on drums, Roy Hart on percussion, Artie Cane on piano, Steve Douglas on saxophone, Bill Johnson, George McFadden, Jimmy Adams and Ted Brook on vocals under the name The Jubilee Four as well as The Carol Lombard Quartet (Carol Lombard, Gwen Johnson , Jackie Ward and Marjorie Cranford) who also took part in backing vocals on these recording sessions.
