Lisa Marie Presley called Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla script “vindictive and derogatory.”
Elvis Presley’s daughter told the director that she thought her father looked like “a predator” in that biopic.
Lisa: “…I don’t see anything of my father in this character. I do see my mother’s surprisingly vindictive and dismissive perspective, and I don’t understand why.
I will be forced to be in a position where I will have to openly say how I feel about the movie and go against
my mother and this film publicly.”
Presley praised Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 biopic ‘Elvis‘ as “a break from suffering and a ray of light,” adding that he didn’t understand Sofia Coppola’s “need” to try to take down my father immediately after a such an incredible film with the excuse that you are trying to tell my mother’s story, but from her dark and jaded reality.”
Lisa said she had talked to one of her daughters about the film, who asked her after seeing an ad about it.
“…I had to explain to them that we are going to have to endure another blow in our lives. “That there will be a movie about his grandfather that will try to make him look very, very bad, but it is not true,” she wrote.
