DIXIE LOCKE R.I.P. CONFIRMED
Dixie Locke Emmons (August 29, 1938 – December 19, 2023)
Elvis and Dixie were together since January from 1954 to May 1956, around Dixie’s high school graduation.
They met in Memphis at the First Assembly of God Church and their first dates took place at the Rainbow Rollerdome Skating Ring.
Dixie was born in the South and raised in Memphis, therefore, Elvis and Dixie shared many of the same Southern values, beliefs, traditions, and struggles.
Elvis attended Dixie’s prom at Southside High School on May 6, 1955.
Dixie met and was close to Elvis’s mother, Gladys Presley, and was in Elvis’s life when he recorded “That’s All Right“, on Sun Records on July 5, 1954.
May Dixie rest in peace. The news was confirmed by Dixie’s daughter, Kristi Emmons Jones.
