WELCOME HOME ELVIS

On March 7, 1960, a train arrives in Memphis at 7:45 am, in the middle of a snow storm. Elvis travels in it, returning home, after finishing his commitment to the United States Army.
Many fans waited early in the morning at Memphis’ Union Station to welcome him home.After greeting fans, Elvis headed to Graceland.
In the afternoon, that same day of his arrival, there was a press conference in Vernon’s office, in a small building just behind Graceland, in which about 50 journalists bombarded him with questions: What had he learned about life in the army?. How was his music going to change? Had he already decided on his first single?… Elvis told everyone how happy he was to be home again and came out of the situation with flying colors, with the same aplomb that he always did on all public occasions. The white nylon Christmas tree in the corner of the room, its lights twinkling and filled with what looked like Christmas presents, was still there as a memento of the last Christmas Elvis had celebrated at Graceland before leaving for his service Military.
A very happy day, without a doubt, in the life of Elvis.
