Film recordings of the king of rock’n’roll
The British label Memphis Recording Service (MRS) announced the premiere of its new set a few days ago. The album titled “The Complete Movie Masters 1960 – 62 – Plus Sessions Out Takes” is scheduled to go on sale on April 26 this year.
As the title itself suggests, on the four discs included in the box, the publisher collected all the songs (so-called master versions) recorded by Elvis Presley for films with his participation from 1960 to 1962.
In addition to hits from such productions as “GIBlues”, “Flaming Star ”, “Wild In The Country”, “Kid Galahad”, “Follow That Dream”, “Blue Hawaii” and “Girls! Girls! Girls!” the discs will also include the most interesting, and most importantly… previously unpublished, materials from the recording sessions during which the above soundtracks were created.
The undoubted highlight of the set will be the soundtrack from the comedy “Follow That Dream”, which will be presented in its entirety in stereo for the first time on this set. Apart from the mini album “Follow That Dream” released (just by MRS) a few days ago, the songs from this film have so far only been available in mono.
According to the publisher, each recording included in “The Complete Movie Masters 1960 – 62 – Plus Sessions Out takes” has been carefully restored and will be presented in stereo.
The discs will be accompanied by a one hundred and forty-page book filled with information about each film, rare photographs, scans of documents and promotional materials.
The circulation of the box, already available for pre-order, is to be limited.
