ELVIS AND HIS HOUND DOG BICYCLE
It was (and still is) very common for employers/actors to use a bicycle when moving around the film studio complex. And a star was often presented with a custom bike.
Elvis was given his own bicycle when production on Loving You began in January 1957 at Paramount Studios. Director of the film, Hal Kanter and producer Hal Wallis look on as a happy Elvis inspects his new Schwinn Race bike – the famous Hound Dog bicycle.
This bike also toured Paramount Studios in 1958 during the filming of King Creole here alongside variety singer Kitty Dolan (whom Elvis met in Las Vegas).
And in the last photograph (also on the set of King Creole) we can see the actor Anthony Quinn behind Elvis, although he is almost never named or his presence is referred to in this photo.
