There is evidence that Elvis recorded Money Honey at Sun Records studios in Memphis but, like many other songs, they surely disappeared when the recording reels were reused. In that first session of the boy from Tupelo in Nashville, for his new company, he would record a new version whose takes 5 and 6 were used to make the master. It would not be able to enter the Billboard Top 100.

The same would happen to its B-side, One Sided Love Affair, which despite Shorty Long’s magnificent piano work, was left off the Billobard list. Take number eight was chosen to make the master
