Blue Hawaii is the Elvis soundtrack par excellence. Recorded in March 1961, a few days after finishing the recording of the LP “Something For Everybody” Elvis entered the Radio Recorders in Hollywood to record this LP of his film Blue Hawaii.
Elvis faced the challenge with professionalism and left us unforgettable songs such as the hit single that would also be on the LP “Can’t Help Falling In Love“.
Elvis’ voice in the early 60’s was exceptional and here we have an unmistakable example.
The film was a box office success and the soundtrack was no less, with sales of two million copies in its first 12 months on the market. This is the best-selling LP in Elvis’ lifetime. Published in October 1961, as it could not be otherwise, the album reached number 1 (where it remained for the remainder of 1961 and part of 1962) on the Billboard charts and quickly achieved gold record status.
Blue Hawaii is currently listed as triple platinum by the RIAA.
