Information
Third volume of the Golden Records series, of Elvis’s hit singles. In this case the songs correspond to the releases made between 1960 – 1962. Published in August 1963, the forecast was not to publish this LP since in May of that That same year Elvis had returned to Nashville, to Studio B, for the recording of his studio LP. The recordings were made (and unfortunately they were not published together until 1991 on the CD “The Lost Album“) but in a last minute move and motivated mainly by the low sales that these albums had, it was decided to publish this series again. Commercially it was a good movement given that the album reached number 3 on the Billboard charts and at the sales level it initially sold over 600,000 copies, achieving the gold record. It is currently listed by the RIAA as a platinum record.

The negative part of this release was depriving fans of a new studio album with better quality songs than the soundtracks and not providing new material. Those recordings would be diluted and published separately in subsequent releases.
