INFORMATION

Released in November 1963, the LP Fun In Acapulco is the soundtrack to the movie that Elvis made for Paramount Pictures. The recording sessions took place in January 1963 at Radio Recorders in Hollywood (except for the last two songs that were incorporated as bonus tracks and that came from the sessions that Elvis carried out in May 1963 in Nashville). It was a new musical challenge for Elvis since the songs were largely impregnated with the Latin sound so fashionable at that time.

Without being a great LP, we have quite acceptable songs (the single Bossa Nova Baby was in the top 10 of the charts) and the two “bonus tracks” gave the album a quality leap. Everything and this sales were not high but the LP reached number 3 on the Billboard charts.
