INFORMATION

Released in March 1965, the Girl Happy LP was a new soundtrack, this time from the Elvis movie for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The recording sessions took place at Radio Recorders in Hollywood in June 1964 ( with the exception of the song You’ll Be Gone, recorded in Nashville in 1962 and included on this LP as a bonus track), with Elvis clearly already annoyed with the songs that were presented to him to record extreme of leaving the studio in the middle of recording. The evolution in the recordings and the themes, rather than advancing, receded, which increased the singer’s frustration even more. All this translated into a very weak LP with a poor sound. The album with initial sales of about 400.
