From August 10 to September 8, 1970, Elvis would perform in what was his Third Las Vegas Season at the
International Hotel.
In the Hotel, photos of Elvis were everywhere. Both the Colonel and MGM had plastered all the hallways and entrances, and even the elevators proclaiming that Elvis was in town. The now famous sign, outside the Hotel, displayed Elvis’ name and even the taxis had Elvis advertisements on the sides and top.
MGM had been filming the iconic documentary “That’s The Way It Is,” and that seemed to add to the excitement of their performances.
In the photo we see Elvis on August 14, 1970, during the Midnight Show (00:00 h) in front of 2,200 people, as usual, with “Sold Out”.
An Elvis at the peak of his career, surrounded by an impressive cast of musicians.
