ELVIS’S FIRST THREE PERFORMANCES IN THE ISLANDS
In November 1957, Elvis boards the USS Matsonia bound for Honolulu. Col.Tom Parker has closed three performances that will take place between November 10/11. Elvis makes his first three appearances on an island that would remain deeply rooted for the rest of his personal and artistic life. This visit, which served for Hawaiian fans to see his idol, also served for Col. Parker to see old friends, since he had performed military service in these islands. The three performances, which are a complete success, will represent his last live performances prior to his entry into the army.

With the arrival of December, Elvis’ activity is reduced, so that the artist can spend more time with his family and enjoy one of the most special moments of the year, Christmas. It is a double reason for happiness, since he is surrounded by his loved ones, and at the same time he can do it for the first time in his new mansion in Memphis, Graceland. It is also on these dates when he receives the notification that next year he must serve his country and join the ranks to perform military service. The incorporation into the ranks will presumably take place in March, since at the beginning of 1958, Elvis has a film commitment with Paramount Pictures.
