Houston Astrodome fue el primer lugar en actuar fuera de Las Vegas para Elvis y ‘The Sweet Inspirations’.

Más tarde descubrí que los promotores habían enviado un mensaje de que estaban encantados de que Elvis viniera, pero NO de traer a ‘esas chicas negras’ con él.
Elvis había establecido que si no íbamos, ÉL tampoco actuara, y cuando hicimos el show, me preguntaba por qué todos eran tan amables con nosotros.
Nadie nos lo dijo porque no querían herir nuestros sentimientos, pero descubrí años después que Elvis nos había defendido”.
