She was a major radio personality and sound engineer who did major promotions for Sun Records, and also invested her own money in Sun’s development.

ELVIS HIMSELF GAVE HIM 100% CREDIT FOR DISCOVERING IT (without Sam Phillips!)

Elvis told all the reporters at a press conference:

“…WITHOUT HER, NONE OF US WOULD BE HERE.””

Phillips, who snubbed him when he heard the recording of Elvis that Marion recorded, was not included.

MARION WAS SMARTER!

He saved Elvis’s contact number and had it ready for any chance to bring him back.

Life can turn upside down and one has to wonder what would NOT have happened if she hadn’t followed her own brilliant OPINION.

Some mistakenly dismiss her as just the receptionist at Sun (she did everything at Sun); rather, she was the brains and genius who recognized and discovered Elvis’s talent.

I hate to say it, but this truth about Marion is clearly a bias in downgrading a woman’s contributions in favor of giving credit to a man.

Marion was very aware of the discrimination: she defended the contribution of women during her life after Sun Records.

PHILLIPS, the guy who snubbed Elvis, was incorrectly credited with his discovery, while the brilliant sound engineering and radio personality who actually discovered Elvis is more often remembered as “Sun’s receptionist.”

Marion deserves more respect and due recognition for discovering the greatest artist in the world: Elvis.
