On April 1, 1957, one of the most representative songs of Elvis’s career, All Shook Up, reached number 1 on the Top 100 lists of Billboard magazine, a classic in his live performances practically until the end of his life; a theme composed by Otis Blackwell, with arrangements by Elvis himself that earned him recognition as co-author of the song. It spent eight weeks at the top of the charts. On Country charts it was number three and on Rhythm & Blues number one. The take chosen to appear as the master was number ten.

Its B-side, That’s When your Heartaches Begin, was recorded by Elvis three times: the first on July 18, 1953, when an eighteen-year-old paid $3.98 at a Sun Recording Service recording booth to record it along with to My Happiness; the second during the improvised jam at the Sun studios on December 4, 1956 with Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash and lastly on January 13, 1957 at Radio Recorders in Hollywood. The theme, taken from take number seven, obtained number 58 as the best position on the Billboard charts.
