With Elvis in the military, RCA did not have much material to publish so they had to manage to keep Elvis product on the market and thus maintain the demand of their fans.
The first of two LP’s that would go in the direction of what was mentioned above would be this “For Lp Fans Only” that contained songs published as singles or Ep’s and that for the first time were part of an album. With songs from different years, it was a way of acquiring songs in LP format that had not been available in their original format. On the Billboard charts it reached number 19. At the sales level it was not very successful, reaching approximately 200,000 units.
