INFORMATION
The last single that would enter the Hot 100 lists of Billboard magazine until April 1960.
Its A-side, A Big Hunk O’Love, entered the lists on July 6, 1959 and managed to win first position on August 10, since it will keep for two weeks. Hank Garland’s guitar works wonders on a song that took only four takes to record. Takes numbers 3 and 4 were used to make the master. In the Rhythm & Blues charts, it had number ten as its best position. He obtained two Grammy Award nominations (best song and best performer) although he ultimately did not get the award. Elvis would recover this rock’n’roll during his shows in 1972 and 1973.
For side B, a recording from 1957, My Wish Came True, was chosen, which obtained number twelve as the best position on the Billboard charts. In R&B lists it managed to reach position number fifteen. The master was obtained from several of the shots he recorded on September 6, 1957.
