 ELVIS PRESLEY BIOGRAPHY

In November 1967 Elvis and Priscilla bought their first house in Beverly Hills, located at 1174 Hillcrest for $400,000. It is not a very large house, and it will serve to give privacy to the new family (Lisa Marie’s birth will be in February 1968). He has a room in case someone from Elvis’s entourage decides to be with them.

Clambake” is released nationwide on November 22, 1967 and peaks at #15 on the top-grossing movies. The soundtrack does not improve the level of the previous ones reaching number #40. By now the need for a change in Elvis’s career was apparent. Col. Tom Parker at that time closes a new film contract for Elvis with National General Pictures (the film will be Charro) for an approximate sum of one million dollars. It is true that it is increasingly difficult for him to close deals, given the fall in popularity of Elvis and the poor results of his recent films. At the same time, Col. Parker began to negotiate with NBC the possibility of making a Christmas show for 1968.
