INFORMATION
Return To Sender, one of the best songs recorded by Elvis for a soundtrack, in this case for the film Girls! Girls! Girls! (1962) and why not, one of the best of the entire 60’s within his particular discography. From March 23 to 28, Elvis records the songs that would make up the soundtrack of the eleventh movie starring the king of rock.
With a saxophone as a prominent protagonist within the musical accompaniment, of course, the work of the great “Boots” Randolph, Elvis winks at the singer Jackie Wilson by dancing like him in the well-remembered sequence of the film. The master, taken from take two, manages to reach second position on the Hot 100 charts in the US. In the UK, the song reaches number one.
Its B-side, Where Do You Come From, originally intended to appear in the film, was ultimately scrapped. It made its debut on the charts on October 20, 1962, only reaching position No. 99. The master take was number fourteen.
