INFORMATION
Released in October 1967, the Clambake LP was a new soundtrack to the film that Elvis made for United Artists. The recording sessions took place in Nashville at Studio B in February of that same year and with Elvis more focused on his new ranch (Circle G) that he had recently acquired, which the recording session itself. The quality of the material, again weak, everything and the LP was improved by the incorporation of bonus tracks recorded in other recording sessions. To highlight the new singles that were incorporated into this album, such as Guitar Man or the fantastic Big Boss Man. We also found the country song Just Call Me Lonesome.
As an anecdotal fact, it should be noted that the first edition of this LP included photographs of Elvis’ recent wedding with Priscilla.
This fact did not help the sales of the LP either, which achieved no more than 250,000 copies. On the Billboard charts it ranked at number 40.
