INFORMATION

Elvis Presley” was the first LP release that RCA brought to the market. We are facing one of the most important albums in rock history. With a cover of the most reconciled (and covered in history) the content is a mix of songs from their first sessions for the SUN label and recordings made for their new RCA label in January and February 1956. The recording musicians of these songs were Elvis’s usual songs in the 50’s with Scotty Moore, Bill Black and DJ Fontana, as well as occasionally the pianist Shorty Long, Floyd Cramer and the guitar virtuoso Chet Atkins. This release was already a declaration of intentions of what Elvis could offer, given that we can find rock songs, country songs, ballads and R&B. Published on March 23, 1956, it reached number 1 on the charts in the US, achieving Gold certification. It is currently listed as platinum by the RIAA.
