INFORMATION
Released in October 1968, the LP Singer Presents Elvis Singing Flaming Star and Others was part of the agreement between Elvis and the famous sewing machine company by which the latter would sponsor the NBC television special. Singer managed to have the rights to have an exclusive Elvis LP in its stores for three months and with unreleased or previously unpublished material. The LP consisted of diverse material from different eras, (from the title of the 1960 film that opened the album to outtakes from the film Viva Las Vegas, to the wasted “Too Much Monkey Business” recently recorded in Nashville. A year later After its publication, RCA would reissue it on another RCA label such as Candem.
The album reached number 96 on the Billboard charts and sales were surprisingly good over time, with the RIAA granting Elvis the platinum record that sustains the present.
