INFORMATION
Pacer, a role played by Elvis, is a mixed-race boy, son of the Kiowa Indian Neddy, the second wife of rancher Sam Burton.
The happiness within the Burton family is cut short when war breaks out in the territory between the whites and the Indians, which will cause a moral dilemma in the young Pacer as he must choose which side he will ally with.
Based on the novel “Flaming Lance” by Clair Huffaker, some consider this film to be Elvis’s best film, even though The King only performs one song in the film, in addition to the main theme that can be heard in the opening credits. Not in vain, the film is directed by the prestigious director Don Siegel and features the participation of great actors such as Barbara Eden, Steve Forrest and Dolores del Río. Elvis’s performance is more than remarkable, proving right those who saw in the singer great talent as a dramatic actor. Unfortunately, the box office did not reach the expected income, which led to the assumption that fans preferred to see his idol perform many songs on the big screen.
