Released in November 1970, Back In Memphis was the reissue of the 1969 double LP “From Memphis To Vegas, From Vegas To Memphis“, this time separately. In 1970, RCA’s commercial strategy with permanent releases of both singles and LP’s) decided to make this move and release two more LPs in order to permanently have Elvis in the record market. The one in question was the studio album, recorded at American Sound Studios and now renamed. “Back Memphis“. Without being as compensated an album as “From Elvis In Memphis” it contains some of the best songs recorded there, such as Do You Know Who Am I, You’ll Think Of Me, Whithout Love (There is Nothing) or And The Grass Won’t Pay No Mind.
Initial sales of this reissue were just over 100,000 copies.
