INFORMATION
Too Much, another of Elvis’s great recordings during the 50’s, magnificent performance and no less spectacular Scotty Moore on guitar. It entered the Billboard Top 100 on January 26, 1957 and reached number one on February 6 for four consecutive weeks. In total, seventeen weeks for a song whose master was extracted from take twelve. On Country charts it was number five and seven on Rhythm & Blues charts.
Side B, Playing For Keeps had the best position at number thirty-four. The take for the master was number seven. Currently, the single is certified Platinum. The recording sessions of the days 1, 2 and 3 of September of 1956 realized in the studies Radio Recorders of Hollywood were of the most fruitful; songs like Love Me, Paralyzed or Anyplace Is Paradise emerged from them. Elvis was backed by his usual musicians at the time: Scotty Moore, Bill Black, D.J. Fontana and the unmistakable voice of The Jordanaires. At the piano were Jordanaire Gordon Sotcker and Elvis Presley himself.
