The train that takes Elvis from New York to Memphis makes a stop in Sheffield, Alabama.

Elvis and his cousin Junior (behind Elvis in the photo) get off the train to grab a bite to eat on the street. It is lunch time.

Elvis was waiting his turn for a double order of southern fried chicken, milk, and “Hostess” cupcakes.

The spontaneity, humility and simplicity that Elvis shows in this photograph are overwhelming.

There will be very little time left before Elvis could be on the street, like one more, only with the protection of his cousin Junior…
