Information
Two takes were enough for Elvis to record side A of this single. It was the second of the two that was chosen to make the master of I Feel So Bad. On March 12, 1961, Elvis entered RCA’s Studio B in Nashville to record a dozen songs destined to appear on the album Something For Everybody.
The king of rock was backed by his usual musicians at that time: Scotty Moore and Hank Garland on guitars, Bon Moore on bass, D.J. Fontana and Murrey “Buddy” Harman on drums, Floyd Cramer on piano and organ and Homer “Boots” Randolph on saxophone and the vocals of The Jordanaires and Millie Kirkham. The song enters the Hot 100 charts on May 15, peaking at number five on June 5. On R&B charts it would reach fifteenth position.
Wild In The Country, the B-side of the single, was the title of Elvis’s seventh film. It reaches position number 26. Take number 19 was chosen as the master.
Currently the single is a gold record.
