Information

The year 1962 began with Elvis already immersed in filming movies and the consequent soundtracks. Among all this appeared Pot Luck, Elvis’s 1962 studio album.
Initially, its publication was not planned since with the soundtracks they already complied with the release contract that RCA demanded of Elvis. The publication materialized since the last film published (Follow That Dream) not having enough songs left a void that fortunately took this fantastic LP that sometimes is not valued enough.

Released in June 1962, Pot Luck is an LP made up of songs recorded in different recording sessions, yes, all at Studio B in Nashville (with the exception of the song Steppin’ Out Of Line, from the Blue Hawaii sessions).
Elvis’ voice continued to improve as the 60’s progressed and on this album he shows us the maturity and versatility of his voice on songs like Something Blue, Suspicion or Night Rider… or the sensitivity of That’s Someone You Never Forget .

The album, like all those that were not soundtracks, did not have the expected reception and sales were not up to par. However, the LP obtained a number 4 on the Billboard charts.
