Released in November 1968, the LP “Elvis” which would later be known as the “Comeback Special” marked the expected change in Elvis’ career. It is an essential release in his career, where he shows the artist he still had inside him. It consists of live versions of his greatest hits as well as interesting new songs such as the wonderful “If I Can Dream” or the magnificent and sometimes forgotten “Memories“. The special allowed us to see a renewed artist, with an unbeatable appearance and a voice that time seemed to have disappeared.

The critics were unanimous with the special and with the soundtrack that after a long time returned to be placed in the Top 10 of the best albums (specifically number 8). Sales also improved, leading to the initial sale of 500,000 copies, which awarded Elvis a new Gold record. Currently the album is listed by the RIAA as a platinum record.
