On July 26, the separation of Elvis and Priscilla is formalized. Divorce is coming. Elvis has begun seeing Linda Thompson, a young woman from Memphis, whom he has recently been introduced to and with whom he quickly hits it off. Linda Thompson will become his main companion until the end of 1976. At the end of July 1972, Elvis begins preparations for a new season at the Las Vegas Hilton.
