On Tuesday, June 16, 1959, Elvis arrived for the first time in the city that stole his heart forever… Paris.
He traveled from Germany, where he was serving in the army, to enjoy a few days of rest.
Sometimes Corporal Presley could be seen leaning out of the balcony of his suite, walking around the city, or on his crazy Parisian nights; but this did not prevent him from meeting the luckiest fans or those who knew his whereabouts, in front of his Hotel Prince de Galles…
In the photos we can see a beautiful Elvis with his fans…autographs, photos…
That day he was wearing a beautiful big red ribbed sweater and something that is unusual, a “bolo-tie” (cord held by a ring) around his neck.
Elvis loved Paris, and Paris loved Elvis. He would still make two more trips to the city that captivated him forever…
