INFORMATION
Single composed of two relatively recent and innovative recordings made by Elvis in studio B in Nashville. Guitar Man, a song composed by country singer and songwriter Jerry Reed, months later became the central theme of the NBC special known as Comeback Special. Elvis insisted that Reed himself play the guitar in the recording session since he wanted the same sound that sounded in the composer’s own original recording. He would also do it in Big Boss Man. Guitar Man would reach position No. 43 on Billboard and No. 19 on British charts. It was included as a bonus track on the soundtrack of the film Clmabake (1967). The master shot was taken from cut number twelve.
Hi-Heel Sneakers, side B, failed to enter the charts. Master, obtained from a take seven that was more of a rehearsal from which several fragments were extracted that gave rise to the version published in January 1968.
