The Extended Play “Heartbreak Hotel” was published in April 1956. Elvis’ record company was very satisfied with the commercial results of his first EP, so they decided to launch a new Extended Play, this time with the single from Elvis’ hit song at the time (Heartbreak Hotel / I Was The One) along with a song from his first recording session with RCA (Money Honey) and a song from the sessions with Sun Records (I Forgot To Remember To Forget). Commercially , perhaps motivated by the recent success of Heartbreak Hotel, the EP initially sold more than 300,000 copies and peaked at number 76 on the Billboard charts. Currently, Heartbreak Hotel (EP) is listed as a gold record by the RIAA.
