First single of 1970. There was still one of the great songs recorded at the American Sound Studios in Memphis to be published and it didn’t take long for RCA to bring it to light. Magnificent composition by Eddie Rabbitt that together with its B-side, which was also recorded in the same recording sessions (although those carried out in January) form a magnificent country single. The song has excellent lyrics, and the subsequent arrangements still give the song more consistency. Elvis gives us an unforgettable performance with that unmistakable voice from 1969.
The B side, everything and being a lower category composition, is a beautiful song written by Shirl Milete, which is also very well executed by Elvis and with some arrangements very accomplished. Released in January 1970, this single reached number 16 on the Billboard charts. Initially this single sold over 600,000 copies. It is listed by the RIAA as a Gold record.
