INTERVIEWS IN THE MILITARY SERVICE

On January 8, Elvis is interviewed without cameras via transatlantic telephone by Dick Clark on “American Bandstand” on ABC-TV. The show serves to commemorate the star’s 24th birthday. Later in January, the family moves from a hotel to a rented house. Additionally, Elvis poses with actress Vera Tschechowa for the “March Of Dimes.” While Colonel Parker continues to maintain Elvis’ career with promotions and album releases.

ELVIS, ON A VISIT TO EUROPE

In March 1959, on a three-day leave, Elvis traveled to Munich where he visited the actress Vera Tschechow and the Moulin Rouge. A few months later, in June, Elvis visits Paris and Munich.
