BOWIE’S CHRISTMAS IMITATION
Bowie was a big fan of Elvis, performing Elvis songs at his concerts and saying about him: “…he was one of my heroes, and I was stupid enough to think that having the same birthday as him actually meant something.”
David Bowie’s first wife, Angie, said Bowie could do a “devastating Elvis impression”.

So in 2013, it came as no surprise when David Bowie delivered his own Christmas message to the BBC from the US in character as Elvis, including the brilliant ‘thank you thank you very much’.
Bowie quipped: “…hi everyone, I’m David Bowie making a phone call from the US, and at this time of year I can’t help but be reminded of my British character and all the happy British people, so here it is for you and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year…
“Thank you thank you very much“!
