ELVIS HISTORY
The original name of this imposing suit was “Adonis Suit“.
Although it was also known as the “White Comet Suit“. It is a white Jumpsuit, with the matching gold-lined cape.
It has five gold square buttonholes on each side of the chest opening.
The suit had 26 different models or patterns in the shape of a branch and they were distributed on the sides of the pants, the sleeves, the chest, the back and the neck. They were made of round gold metal studs.

The lining of the pant leg openings was of the same gold fabric as the inside of the cloak, patterned in the same pattern as the rest of the suit.
It is possible that it was made with a belt, but Elvis never wore it. He always used the “Gold Attendance Belt“.
An impressive Elvis, he debuted in this suit during the first concert at Madison Square Garden in New York on June 9, 1972, and used it during this year on his tours.
And here begins the curious story…
Actor Kurt Russell wore the original suit that belonged to Elvis, in the well-known movie “Elvis” from 1979. The film’s director, John Carpenter, and Kurt Russell visited Graceland during preparations for the filming of the film, to get a real glimpse of Elvis’s life and to see his home.

Kurt had already met Elvis, when he was a child, in the movie “It Happened At The World’s Fair“, where he made his acting debut, at just 12 years old. Giving Elvis the famous kick to the shin.
During the visit, Vernon told Kurt to try on one of Elvis’s jumpsuits. Kurt did so. So, with Vernon’s approval, they decided to take it away for Kurt to use in the movie. The suit was none other than the “Adonis”. You can see it in the following video:
Shortly after, in June of that year, Vernon died. …but the suit was never returned. Why we will never know. Vernon was dead and probably no one even knew about it.
After Elvis’s death, his father and grandmother lived at Graceland. It was them and the staff that worked there, who had access to their things. In any case, Carpenter or Russell should have returned it at the end of the movie.
But who were they going to return it to, if Vernon had died? Maybe Minnie Mae?… Well, it’s all hypotheses… We’ll never know what happened.
The suit was subsequently auctioned off. Now, fortunately, it is on display at the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando, Florida.
