Elvis Closing Nights 1972 – Memphis Recording Service is back with a new album

In September, the latest album from the renowned British record label, Memphis Recording Service, entitled “Closing Nights 1972”, will be available for sale.
This is another, after the wildly successful “Las Vegas Summer Festival” or “Las Vegas Hilton Presents Elvis – Opening Night 1972”, a set of records documenting Elvis Presley’s performances in 1972.
This time the box will contain a record of Presley’s concert from September 4, 1972, but not, as the title of the release suggests, “closing show”, i.e. a show closing the next summer tour of performances at the Hilton Hotel, but the so-called dinner show, recorded a few hours earlier.
Previously, the same concert, but in mono, was performed, among others, by the official Presley record label on the double album “Destination USA” (FTD).
Here, fans will have the opportunity to hear it in STEREO quality for the first time.
The second disc will feature an extensive recording of Elvis’ rehearsals with his band at the Hilton Hotel on August 4, 1972.
Among the songs practiced that day were, among others, “Faded Love”, “My Babe” and “True Love Travels On A Gravel Road”. Presley also devoted much of his attention to the ballads “What Now My Love” and “My Way”.
Just like the concert, the material from the rehearsals is also not new, but on this release we will get it in a completely different, improved sound quality.
As always, the CDs will be accompanied by a beautifully produced booklet containing numerous photos from Presley’s last concerts during the summer season at the Hilton in 1972, reproductions of documents and memorabilia from that period, as well as an interesting text, which will certainly not lack eyewitness accounts of those events.
Closing Night 1972 will also be available on vinyl.
