Recording sessions for the soundtrack for the 20th Century Fox film Love Me Tender, took place on August 24, 1956, September 4 and 5, 1956, and October 1, 1956, at 20th Century Fox Stage 1. Hollywood.

These were the first recording sessions not to feature Elvis’s band: Scotty Moore, Bill Black, and DJ Fontana. The film company insisted on using session musicians, believing that Elvis’s band was not suitable.

Although all the songs were credited to Presley/Matson, in reality, they were all written by Vera Matson’s husband, Ken Derby

The photos correspond to August 24, 1956.
