INFORMATION
Elvis’s last single in the 1960s. Again with recordings by the American Sound of Memphis. On side A, another composition by Mac Davis, very common in the songs recorded by Elvis in recent years. It is not clear what takes were used to compose the master of this song, which was recorded on the one hand the instrumentation and on the other the vocal part. Another outstanding song from those recordings in the Chips Moman studios that Elvis used live in 1970. Number six in the US and number eight in the UK.
On side B, Rubberneckin‘, a song also from those sessions in Memphis but which was finally decided to be included in the soundtrack of the last fiction film starring Elvis, Change Of Habit (1970). The master was extracted from cut two although post-production work was carried out later. Elvis used it on his first Las Vegas stint that ’69. In 2003, DJ Paul Oakenfold attempted to recreate the success of A Little Less Conversation a year earlier with a remix of Rubberneckin’; Although it obtained good results, it did not reach the number of the Junkie XL remix. Currently the single is platinum.
